1 killed after 20 shots fired in Oakland Chinatown

Some 20 shots rang out in Oakland’s Chinatown this afternoon. One person is dead, reports ABC7.

It happened shortly after 2 p.m. just a block away from Oakland Police Department Headquarters.

KTVU reports the victim is described as a male shot possibly with a high caliber weapon.

According to CBS5, shell casings could be seen in the area. This is the 54th homicide of the year in Oakland.

Police say the shots could be heard at Police headquarters. Officers rushed to the scene and unsuccessfully attempted to revive the victim while waiting for paramedics.

Authorities are asking the public to share any videos or information about this case.
