A new comedy now in development for ABC will star Filipino American comic Jo Koy, reports The Wrap.
Josep will center around a hard working nurse dealing with dating, fatherhood and his Filipino mom who just moved in with him.
It’s written by Michael Golamco and Randall Park of Always Be My Maybe and Steve Joe of Man with a Plan.
Koy will both star and executive produce the program.
Deadline reports other executive producers will be Hieu Ho, Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar who was behind Fresh Off the Boat.

This is an opportunity for ABC to up the number of AAPI regulars it features following the cancellation of Fresh Off the Boat and Marvel: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Other shows that would have featured a number of Asian American or Pacific Islander shows in development for the network were not picked up.
