Police in San Francisco responded to a report from a San Francisco Muni train driver that a teen set a woman’s hair on fire.
It happened one month ago, but police did not release the video until Wednesday.
The video released shows a teen moving to a seat a few feet behind the woman who is described as in her 50’s or 60’s of either Filipino or Latin descent.
He reaches out with a lighter and singes her hair with the flame. The suspect ran off with two other persons of interest. The victim left the scene before police could arrive.
The suspect is described as a black male in his teens, last seen wearing a red, long sleeve top with colored logo on the front, matching red pants and a black backpack.
Investigators hope the victim will come forward and give them a statement.
“We have not made any arrests,” said SFPD spokesperson Adam Lobsinger to SF Gate. “We are still looking for the suspects. Without the victim, when we catch the suspects, it’s harder to do anything.”
Anyone having information regarding this incident is asked to call the SFPD 24-hour Tip Line at 1-415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD. You may remain anonymous
