Father in Philadelphia killed while aiding employee

A Philadelphia dad and restaurant owner killed when he came to help his delivery driver is being remembered as someone “sweet, friendly” and always willing to pitch in whenever needed.

People Magazine reports Wei Lin rushed to aid his employee when he got into a minor fender bender and needed language assistance.

Lin assisted in exchanging information with the other driver, a woman, when according to ABC6, he was suddenly attacked.

“The suspect came out of nowhere,” Lin’s wife, Zhang says, of a male attacker. “It was a fist and a really heavy hit at my husband’s head.”

Lin remained unconscious for three days before dying at the hospital.

According to Penn Live, Jose Figueroa 30, faces charges of involuntary manslaughter, simple assault, conspiracy to commit simple assault and reckless endangerment.

They are not treating this as a hate crime.

Lin is survived by his wife and two children just three and 19 months old.

A Go Fund Me campaign for the family has so far raised more than $125,000.
