Couple celebrating anniversary reunited with stolen dog

CATEGORIES

A couple whose anniversary trip to San Francisco was ruined when thieves stole their 10-year-old Yorkie Leo out of their parked car has something new to celebrate today.

ABC7’s Dion Lim reports a good Samaritan who saw her reports on the theft returned Leo to his rightful owners, Jacqueline and her husband.

Jacqueline gave Leo a huge hug and burst into happy tears when she arrived and confirmed the dog police had was indeed Leo.

The man had purchased the dog, but when he realized Leo had been stolen he immediately turned the pooch over to the San Francisco Police Department.

The couple from Stockton, CA had been visiting San Francisco to mark their 12th anniversary. They left Leo in the vehicle while strolling through Fisherman’s Wharf. Jacqueline said she thought Leo was too tired, so she left him in the car carrier and tucked him away so he would be out of sight.

“My heart fell…I knew something happened,” Jacqueling told Lim about the moment she discovered Leo gone.
