Jogger attacked in Asian hate incident in Silicon Valley

A man with a bicycle struck an Asian American male jogger from behind in the head, report Mountain View police near San Jose.

Investigators say the suspect approached from behind on Wednesday at 9:20 a.m. and hit the victim for no apparent reason.

The suspect then held his fist out in a threatening manner and made what police describe as a “racially charged” statement. He then picked up his bicyle and swung it at the man, striking him with the tire.

The man suffered minor injuries. The suspect is described as a Black man in his 40’s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall with a red jacket and a hood. He had a black mountain bike. AsAmNews does not mention the race of suspects unless a full description of the suspect is available.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Matthew Hom at [email protected].

  1. Thank you for publicizing this matter.
People seem to be taking out their
anger and frustrations on innocent people. That is not a solution!

Some are misguided as to what the problem is, and are uselessly turning on their neighbor.

How can be people be educated to focus on real solutions? We must use every way to come together and have
    a dialogue about their concerns.
