A Filipino American man will face life in prison after being found guilty of attempting to bomb a White supremacist rally in Long Beach in 2019, reports ABC-CBN.
A jury last week found Mark Steven Domingo of plotting to use a weapon of mass destruction and providing material support to terrorism.
According to KTLA, prosecutors believe the Islamic convert sought to avenge the deaths of 51 people shot to death at a mosque in New Zealand weeks earlier.
Authorities launched an investigation into Domingo after he expressed support for a violent jihad in an online forum and even a willingness to become a martyr.
Laist reports the White supremacists did not show up at the rally in Long Beach as he anticipated. Counter-protesters showed up instead.
