Court refuses to dismiss discrimination case against Apple

A Santa Clara County Superior Court judge dismissed a motion by Apple to throw out a discrimination cased filed by a Hindu Indian woman, reports The American Kahani.

Anita Nariani Schulze, who describes herself as a Hindu Indian woman, accused a two male managers of firing her unlawfully. One of those managers is also Indian Hindu and the other is Pakistani Muslim, according to Business Today.

In her suit, Schulze accused the men of treating her as “a subservient.”

The American Kahani reports that the lawsuit claimed she was repeatedly excluded from team meetings while her male colleagues were invited. She also alleged that her contributions such as pointing out errors were minimized and her managers constantly blamed her specifically when the entire team she worked with turned in a project late.

Judge Sunil R Kulkarni ruled that although she resigned voluntarily, her case met the legal standard for wrongful termination, reported Business Today.
