A New York restaurant released surveillance video of a confrontation between three Black women and an Asian American hostess, reports PIX11.
Carmine’s restaurant says the confrontation broke out after it refused to serve three male friends of the women who failed to show prove of vaccination as required by the city’s mandatory indoor vaccination mandate.
The women allege the fight broke out after the manager used the “N” word.
More than a dozen Black Lives Matter protesters showed up earlier this week to the restaurant to condemn the restaurant’s action.
Hawk Newsome, a Black Lives Matters activist, accused the hostess of lunging at the other women, reported NY1.

“After she dropped the N-bomb, the three women did a double take and followed her out the restaurant,” Newsome said. “And that’s the melee you saw.”
Demonstrators called on the restaurant to release the security footage which it did the next day.
The video shows the manager escorting the women to their seats. When the men appear, they are denied admittance. That’s when the restaurant says the women confronting the manager outside the entrance.
“When my employees mess up, I hold us accountable. But when my employees are attacked, I will defend them to the limit,” said restaurant owner Jeffrey Bank.
Supporters of the women accuse the restaurant of doctoring the video which has no audio.
49-year-old Sally Lewis, 44-year-old Kaeita Rankin and 21-year-old Tyonnie Rankin have been charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief and are due in court October 5.
The women are all tourists from Texas.
