A man Philadelphia police say punched an Asian American women unconscious is under arrest, reports ABC6.
Video released by police show a man running up to the woman and slugging her in the face without warning on September 30.
The suspect ran off, but authorities announced an arrest on Friday. He’s been identified as 37-year-old Charles Holmes.
“I’m just so relieved that they caught the guy,” the victim told Eyewitness News.
The victim who asked not to be identified says she still has trouble with her vision.
Holmes is expected to face aggravated and simple assault charges.
In an exclusive interview with CBS3, the victim says the attack appeared random.
“When I woke up, I still had all my belongings. So to me, it was clearly not a robbery. It was just an assault for some reason,” she said.
“I’m still in shock. I still don’t understand why it happened, why it happened to me. And I realize it can happen to anybody,” the victim said.
