A Henry County police officer in Georgia has died of his injuries after being shot responding to a domestic abuse case.
A gunman shot Paramhans Desai, an Indian American father of two, on November 4. Desai died four days later in the hospital, reports WGXA.
“I have never ever heard anyone say anything negative about him. Ever. He truly loved his job. And he truly loved serving his community,” said Henry County Police Chief Mark Amerman to 11 Alive.
Jana Beasley called the police to do a welfare check on her friend. She said Desai was the officer that responded and found her friend dead.
“He was so kind to me. His kindness made things better,” she said to 11 Alive.
