A UFC fighter is receiving criticism for racist comments he made after defeating his opponent at an MMA event, Insider reports.

UFC flyweight Cody Durden defeated Aoriqileng via a close judge’s decision on Saturday, Fansided reports. Many fans and viewers felt that the judge’s decision should have gone to Aoriqileng.

After the fight, Durden said he had sent Aoriqileng, who is from the Inner Mongolia China, “back to China where he came from.”

According to Insider, the comment received boos from the crowd. Durden claimed that his comment was not racist but several UFC fights disagreed. Women’s flyweight fighter Casey O’Neill called Durden a “pos” (piece of sh*t) and said that racism is never cool.

UFC fighter Jamahal Hill said that Durden had ruined his own performance.

Durden defended himself on Twitter saying he was sorry “if I offended anyone.” He claimed however, that Aoriqileng was disrespectful and wouldn’t shake his hand.

Aoriqileng criticized Durden in an Instagram post, calling his comments disgusting.

“I destroyed this coward in the cage, but the judges gave him a chance to say something disgusting through his disgusting mouth,” Aoriqileng wrote on Instagram. “He can do nothing in the fight, and I saw fear through his eyes. He is a coward.”
