Indian American named CEO of Twitter after Jack Dorsey resigns

Following the resignation of founder and CEO Jack Dorsey, the board of directors of Twitter unanimously named Parag Agrawal as the company’s new CEO.

He is a familiar face to the board. Agrawal is currently Twitter’s Chief Technology Officer and a board member.

He released his first official statement following the announcement on, where else, Twitter.

Marketwatch reports he’s been with the company for ten years. Among his big projects has been overseeing the advancement of artificial intelligence and machine learning. He has also been a leader in the Twitter-backed Blue Sky, which seeks to create a more “open and decentralized standard for social media,” reported Verge.
