Elderly Asian Man Shot Dead in Chicago, Arrest Made

An arrest has been made in the shooting death of an elderly Asian man in Chicago’s Chinatown, The Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Woom Sing Tse was walking in Chinatown on Tuesday afternoon when he was shot at the 200 block of West 23rd Street, near Haines Elementary School.

Around 12:30 p.m., a person driving a silver two-door car shot Tse from his car, NBC Chicago reports. He got out of his car and shot Tse again.

A Twitter account that discusses crime in Chicago posted the footage on Twitter.

Tse was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, WGN-TV reports.

Tse came to America from China when he was a young man. He eventually saved enough money to start his own restaurant. His business put his three children through school.

“He came here for a better life for his family and paved the way for his generation. You know, the immigrant dream to come to America,” his son William Tse told The Chicago Sun-Times.

His son added that they are having trouble understanding the “senseless murder.”

The suspect was arrested on Jackson Boulevard near the Kennedy Expressway, The Chicago Sun-Times reports. Police recovered a gun during the arrest.

  1. Tragically another family man murdered and his family will have to suffer the rest of their lives. When will good citizens understand when you don’t have law and order enforced you will have chaos.

Give criminals get out of jail cards and defund the police then you will have safety? I don’t believe that lie for one moment. Elect politicians that don’t do the jobs that they were hired to do and now we have this degenerative society.

It is another news story of innocence lost at the hands of criminals and civic leaders sitting on their hands.
