The team of Madison Chock and Evan Bates is set to make their third Olympic appearance after winning the national Ice Dancing Championship Saturday in Nashville, reported USA Today.
The pair bested their longtime rivals and practice partners, Madison Hubbell and Zachary Donohue by 1.78 points.
“It just feels so good to accomplish goals you set out for yourself,” said Chock who is Chinese Hawaiian. “This is a goal we had since winning our last national title- to get back on that podium.”
Chock and Bates had previously won the national title in 2015 and 2020 and competed in the two previous Winter Olympics. They have never medaled at the Olympics.
Bronze medalists Kaitlin Hawayek and Jean-Luc Baker also train with Chock/Bates and Hubbell/Donohue.
