Video of Joe Rogan complaining about Asian accents surfaces

By Louis Chan, AsAmNews National Correspondent

A new video has surfaced of Joe Rogan complaining he can’t do an Asian accent without fear of getting fired.

In the clip tweeted out by Alex Paterson of the watchdog group Media Matters, Rogan’s guest on his podcast the Joe Rogan Experience says “have you ever seen the ones when they’ll call two Asian restaurants and just have them talk to each other?”

“Oh, my God,” Rogan responds with raised eyebrows.

“It’s hello, hello, the unidentified guest says in a very poor attempt at a supposed Asian accent. “Hello.”

“You can’t even do that anymore, that’s racist,” complains Rogan.

“I know. I’m going to get canceled,” she responds.

“You should get canceled. I don’t like the way you’re saying those words,” said Rogan to laughs from his guest.

“Yea, you can’t even do an Asian accent or you’re a bad person. But what if that’s what they sound like? No you can’t imitate it. You have to just give up.

She goes on to talk about she can’t even do a Jewish grandmother and she’s Jewish.

“I get called anti-semitic.”

“Do they know you’re Jewish, though?”

“Yes.”

“Then they’re retarded.”

“You can’t say that,” she responds.

“But I did,” Rogan replies.

“You’re not allowed.”

“But I’m on Spotify. I can get away with it,” says Rogan.

Rogan has been under intense pressure for spreading misinformation about the COVID pandemic.

Neil Young demanded Rogan be removed from Spotify for spreading false information or else he would leave the audio service. Spotify decided to stick with Rogan and remove Young’s music. Several other artists followed pulling their songs from the platform in protest.

Patterson also tweeted videos of Rogan making demeaning remarks about Angelina Jolie developing Bell’s Palsy and of Rogan ridiculing trans people.
