Cincinnati Asian Am mayor’s witty Super Bowl wager rejected

Tradition can only go so far, apparently.

Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval wanted to bet his Los Angeles counterpart that if the Rams lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl, LA would have to change its name to Loss Angeles.

If Eric Garcetti wouldn’t agree to that, how about a star on the Walk of Fame with the final score of the game on it?

Garcetti didn’t go for either option. Apparently, the stakes were too high, reported ClutchPoints.

No worries. Tradition did win at the end.

The two mayor’s agree to make a donation to the other city’s Children’s Hospital and to wear the other team’s jersey, reports CBS LA.

Pureval is of Indian and Tibetan descent and is the city’s first Asian American mayor.
