Support is coming in from different parts of the country for New York State Assemblymember Yuh-Line Niou after racists zoom bombed a meeting involving her.
“Every day is a good day to send a little extra love to @yuhline, but today is especially a good day,” tweeted the Wisconsin Working Families Party after the incident this week.
“Disgusted to hear reports that White supremacists zoombombed the meeting of a NY lawmaker, using anti-Asian & antisemitic slurs,” said the Anti-Defamation League, New York and New Jersey on Twitter.
WPIX reported exclusively that the intruders showed images of graphic pornography, screamed “White power” ,and used racial slurs during their interruption.
“No one deserves to be subject to these racist and misogynist attacks. Politics or not, there is no place for hate,” said Safe Horizons which runs a national domestic violence hotline. “We stand with Assemblymember @yuhline.”

Niou told WPIX her staff tried to retake control of the event, and as a result, did not get video of the incident. However, others on the call confirmed what happened.
“[They wrote] explicit sexual language that implied sexual violence,” said Illapa Sairitupac, who is running for state Assembly. “No matter what your politics are, it is unacceptable to stoop this low.”
Volunteer Kaeleigh Farrish called the episode “horrifying” especially with the rise of anti-Asian violence disproportionately impacting women.
