Man Attacks Seven Asian Women in New York City in the Span of Two Hours

The New York Police Department is searching for a man who attacked seven Asian women within a two-hour period on Feb. 27 in Manhattan from Midtown East to the Lower East Side.

Police released a video of the suspect on Tuesday. The suspect who punched or elbowed the seven Asian women was described as a man with a light complexion and blond hair, according to Fox 5

The first assault occurred at around 6:30 p.m., as he punched a 57-year-old Asian woman in the face near the area of Madison Avenue and East 30th Street, according to the police.

She was treated at Mount Sinai Hospital for swelling to her face and a cut to her lip, Fox 5 reports.

Police say the attack was unprovoked.

“There was no prior interaction and no statements were made,” the NYPD told NBC News.

The suspect then attacked a 25-year-old Asian woman around 6:40 p.m., striking her in the face and arm on Fifth Avenue and East 30th Street, according to the police.

The suspect fled on foot, and punched a 21-year- old on Avenue South and East 23rd Street. Five minutes later, he did the same to another 25-year-old Asian woman in the area of Irving Place and East 17th Street.

The third victim was treated at Bellevue Hospital, Fox 5 reported. She suffered a cut and swelling to her mouth.

The fifth assault happened at about 7:05 p.m., as the suspect elbowed a 19-year-old woman in the face at Union Square East and East 17th Street. He elbowed another victim around the mouth 20 minutes later, in the area of East Houston Street and Mott Street. She was treated by an EMS at the scene, according to Fox 5.

The suspect attacked his last victim at around 8:37 p.m. in the area of Broadway and East 8th Street, as he pushed a 20-year-old Asian woman to the ground.

The attacker was last seen wearing a light blue t-shirt, dark-colored pants, dark-colored shoes and a multicolored backpack according to Daily News.
