The 13-year-old girl who went missing in Poway, California, while walking her dog has been found safe.
Cassidy Chan left her home around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday to walk her dog. Her family reported her missing when she did not return, FOX 5 San Diego reports. The San Diego Sheriff tweeted out a picture of Cassidy, which was shared widely on social media.
Cassidy was found safe with her dog on Wednesday night, NBC 7 San Diego reports. More details of about her disappearance and return have not been released. A neighbor says they discovered her when their dog started barking at Cassidy’s.
“My dog starts wiggling and growling, because every time he sees that dog, he growls and I grab him. So, I was talking to our other neighbor, and he saw a movement down there as well. So I said, I want to go put the dog. I put the dog inside my house and I ran and I saw her merging out of the street and hugging that lady that she was walking her dog herself,” neighbor Tony Azar told Fox 5 San Diego.
He said he wanted to kneel and kiss the ground out of gratitude when he saw Cassidy.
