‘Never Have I Ever’ returns in August

Netflix announced that season three of the coming-of-age comedy, Never Have I Ever, will debut on Aug. 12.

According to ET, the first official photos of season three were released along with the announcement.

The show, created by executive producers Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan as Devi Vishwakumar, a first-generation Indian American teenager whose complicated life consists of a love triangle between Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison) and Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Darren Barnet).

Devi also deals with the struggles of at-home drama with her family and the pressures of being a high school student, in addition to her easily irritable personality which often strains her relationships.

At the end of season two, fans saw Devi ultimately make up with Paxton, a popular swim jock, as they dance together at their high school winter formal, according to Teen Vogue.

As the entire school watches them, so does Ben who is hurt by the scene, saying, “It’s always been him.”

Devi’s friend Eleanor corrects him and says it has not always been Paxton, because at one point Devi wanted to choose him.

As the story continues in season three, Netflix has not dropped an official trailer. Instead, teaser photos were released showing previous and new characters in the new season.

One teaser photo shows Devi and Paxton walking together with smiles on their faces as the school watches in disbelief.

According to Teen Vogue, one new face is Anirudh Pisharody who plays Dev, a private school student who will possibly shake things up.

Cast members who are set to return are Lee Rodriguez as Fabiola Torres, Ramona Young as Eleanor Wong, Megan Suri as Anessa and many more.

According to ET, after the third season, the fourth and final season of the show is expected to drop in 2023.
