K-PLAY! FEST is coming to Los Angeles this weekend at KTOWN Night Market from June 17 to 18 so that K-pop fans can get together as a community.
The festival is the first fan-hosted K-pop festival and is intended for fans to come together for a weekend. This is also an opportunity to learn more about Korean culture while sharing the love of K-pop.
K-PLAY! FEST will be headlined by MINZY, a K-pop artist.
“The goal is to not fully promote the K-pop groups, but it’s more to give fans the experience of coming together and having that sense of community, especially with how idols and artists are from across the world,” Katie Nguyen, a social media coordinator for K-PLAY! FEST, said to AsAmNews.
Nguyen said there are a lot of random dance plays, vendors and performances. There are many K-pop cover groups that perform for the audience.
There will be a scavenger hunt where stamp books will be provided as one of the first events.
“I would say that whoever’s interested in K-pop or just are really fascinated in the community then please do come by, check us out. We welcome everyone with open arms,” said Nguyen. “And even if you don’t have any interest, we’re happy to give you that experience to see what we’re all about.”
Nguyen said K-PLAY! FEST is just starting out, and they have a lot of action-packed things in store for everyone who attends.
There will be another K-PLAY! FEST this year in Orange County which will be on Sept 3 and 4.
