Jaswiendre Singh, a Sikh man who owns a gas station in Phoenix, Arizona, is selling fuel to customers at lower rates.
Despite losing around $500 every month, Singh said he wants to sell cheaper gas because his mother and father taught him to help others, according to Firstpost.
Singh did not regret selling gas at a price of $5.19 a gallon, which was 47 cents cheaper than the purchase price. He sells about 3,785 liters of gas each day.
According to the Firstpost article, Singh and his wife have been working overtime to make the ends meet.
Many social media users have been reacting positively to Singh’s selfless act, with one person tweeting, “Feeling happy to see this kind of humanity nowadays. Huge respect.”
Singh said that “God gave [him] the help.” He said he wanted to help people- not to make money- and that he was very happy doing so said News 18.
