Sony Pictures this week dropped its new trailer for Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. It’s a family comedy starring Constance Wu with Shawn Mendes playing the voice of the singing croc.
According to Cartoon Brew, the film is based on a children’s book from Bernard Waber. The Primm family moves to the Big Apple and their son Josh struggles to adjust to his new environment. In comes Lyle, a singing crocodile and the two become best friends. Josh and the family must band together to save Lyle when an evil neighbor threatens to get Lyle banned.
Wu plays the boy’s mother. Lyle, Lyle Crocodile opens October 7.
