On Saturday evening a man fell an estimated 15 feet off of the walkway in Japantown’s Peace Plaza.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Fire Department responded to a call for help around 9:18 p.m. Tweets indicate that a man was transported to a trauma center with serious injuries about 10 minutes after the call.
Witnesses at the scene say the man was holding a skateboard when he fell, KTVU reports.
Japantown has been a integral to life in San Francisco. According to its website it is one of three Japantowns left in the United States.
