A gunman shot and killed a husband and wife working at a nail salon in Summersville, West Virginia, reports WSAZ.

Authorities identified the gunman as Patrick Wayne Cater, a co-worker, who police shot and killed.

The victims have been identified as Khuyen Van Le, 45, and Phi Anh Le, 40.

“I couldn’t believe it. Not in Summersville,” resident William Pearson said to WCHS.

Police say they arrived Thursday to find Cater armed with a semi-automatic pistol.

Workers at a nearby Mexican restaurant said they ducked for cover when they heard the shots ring out.

“I thought it was some crazy guy just shooting,” owner Jackie Villasenor added. “I’m still shaking. It was bad.”

Police say Cater had been working earlier in the day and had left, before returning to open fire.

There’s no word on whether he targeted the Le’s.

Police describe the incident as isolated.
