Nurse accused of shooting at piano teacher’s apartment over noise

According to FOX 11, 39-year-old registered nurse Kathryn Pugh allegedly and shot through her floor at her downstairs neighbor’s apartment because she was upset about noise.

Pugh’s downstairs neighbor is piano teacher Pin Hsin Lin. According to ABC 7 Los Angeles, Lin reported the shots after two bullets came through her ceiling.

Lin says she initially heard a loud bang around noon on Monday, August 1. She assumed Pugh had slammed her door. An hour later she heard two more loud bangs, which she assumed were also just more loud noises from Pugh. After the fourth bang, a bullet came through her ceiling and Lin realized that the loud noises had been gunshots.

According to ABC 7 Los Angeles, Lin has been teaching piano out of her apartment for three years. Last year, Pugh moved into the apartment above her and began complaining about the noise.

Pugh is currently being held without bail as Judge Terry Lee Smerling deemed her a danger to society. FOX 11 reports that she faces two felony charges of discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling.
