Police announced Friday that they had arrested two people in connection with the murder of 52-year-old Uber driver Patrick Fung in Oakland, California.
According to CBS News, Fung was shot on July 17 in Oakland’s Little Saigon neighborhood while sitting in his vehicle. Surveillance video shows two suspects approach Fung’s car and open the driver-side door. Shouting, followed by the sound of gunshots can be heard.
The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged one of the suspects, Major Willis, with murder and attempted carjacking, according to ABC 7 San Francisco. The second suspect, a minor, has been charged in juvenile court.
CBS News reports that Fung was the sole breadwinner of his family. A GoFundMe has been set up by the Oakland Chinatown Improvement Council to help support his family. It has raised over $100,000.
