CATEGORIES

Collin Morikawa recently golfed with five patients from the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital while on the PGA Tour.

The 2020 PGA Championship winner was in Memphis, Tennessee, to golf in the FedEx St. Jude Championship from August 10 to August 14. Before the championship teed off, Morikawa attended the St. Jude Golf in the Park event on August 8.

According to a press release, Morikawa gave golf tips to five patients at the event. Several patients have been involved in the golf world. Eighteen-year-old Cross, who survived cancer two times, recently accepted a golf scholarship to Rockhurst University. Bailey, 17, who is being treated for a bone tumor, had his artwork displayed on the shoes of 30 PGA Tour athletes in 2019.

Azalea was not the most experienced golfer but she was incredibly competitive. According to a comment from the PGA Tour on Instagram, the eight-year-old is visiting Memphis from Jamaica to be treated for soft tissue cancer. She found a different way to compete with Morikawa: challenging him to a dance contest.

Morikawa shared a video documenting his budding friendship with Azalea on Instagram.
