Vietnamese nail technician Phong Tran remains on life support nearly four weeks after being assaulted outside the Cock N Bull in Ohio in Toledo.
Police responded to the fight shortly after the bar closed, according to WTOL11. When police arrived, Tran was unconscious at the scene.
A family member told WTOL11 that a neurosurgeon gave Tran only a 5% chance of survival.
“I’m angry. Angry and sad. Because this is a senseless, senseless crime. My brother didn’t bother anyone,” Tran’s sister said to WTOL11. “Now he’s on life support. Severe brain injuries. He’s already had two brain surgeries and another one tomorrow.”
According to Tran’s sister, the 43-year-old was well known to the people in the community. He still has a lot of friends and support despite the tragedy. The family even started a GoFundMe to raise money for Tran.
Andre Pitts has been arrested and charged with assault in this case. Pitts is locked up at the Lucas County jail, waiting to face a judge next Thursday.
“I just want to bring justice for my brother. He deserves at least that,” Tran’s sister said to 13ABC.
