Asian actress sues studio over comments about her eyes

An Asian American actress this week filed a lawsuit against her former employer alleging her then-supervisor made disparaging comments about her eyes.

KFI reports Olivia Cordell accused Joseph Lackey of laughingly saying “”Open your eyes, Olivia. Your eyes look closed in all of the photos.”

Lackey is also accused of frequently making comments that Cordell could not do certain things on camera because her eyes are too small.

You can see what Cordell is capable of doing in this TikTok compiliation below.

Cordell who is an actress, writer and YouTube personality sued both Lackey and Gen Z Studios LLC for gender discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and infliction of emotional distress.

When Lackey asked for personal time off during the pandemic, she says another producer warned her that when she returned, her job would probably be lost to another actress.

She elected not to return to the job.

An attorney for the studio did not return a call for comment to KFI.
