Tennis star Naomi Osaka announced that she will be releasing her first children’s book.
ESPN reports that the book, titled “The Way Champs Play,” is set to be released on December 6. The book will be published by her production company Hana Kuma. Kamala Nair will illustrate the book.
According to Japan Today, the story is based on Play Academy, an organization Osaka started to level the playing field for underprivileged girls in sports.
“I hope this book inspires kids to chase their dreams and encourages them to believe they can do anything they put their minds to,” Osaka said in an Instagram post announcing the book.
A portion of the proceeds made from the book will go towards supporting the Play Academy.
