Simone Ashley talks ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 spoilers

In a recent interview with British Vogue, Simone Ashley teased what fans can expect from her character Kate during the third season of “Bridgerton.”

Ashley charmed fans last season as Kate Sharma, the main love interest of Antony Bridgerton. The enemies-to-lovers relationship helped catapult “Bridgerton” to the top of Netflix’s streaming lists.

This season Ashley says viewers will see a sweeter side to the couple’s relationship.

“We’re filming a dance this week and tonally, it’s so different – sweet, endearing and light, compared to the heaviness of their story last season,” she told British Vogue.

Kate married Antony at the end of Season 2 and will officially be the viscountess in season 3. Ashley says the third season taps into Kate’s vulnerabilities as she navigates her new role.

“Even though she comes across as fierce, people like that are sometimes the softest on the inside. They develop that skin because they’re vulnerable. You see her insecurities and fears. She’s f**king nervous and I think there’s strength in admitting that,” the actress told British Vogue.

Ashley is also known for her role in the Netflix series “Sex Education,” which has begun production on its fourth season. Teen Vogue reports that Ashley is also set to star in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

“I set it up when I got Bridgerton,” she told British Vogue. “The more you work in this industry, you see the holes, you see what shouldn’t be happening. I want to create sets where everyone feels equal. And I don’t want to be put in a certain box. I want to be in the driver’s seat.”
