Fire erupted at a 30-year-old herbal shop in Chicago Chinatown this weekend.
Crews battled the blaze for two hours, reported ABC7. It reportedly started in the rear of Chang Ying Ginseng Hong.
A neighbor who lived next door said he ran to his rooftop after feeling the intense heat through his walls.
I saw the huge fire spring from the other building onto my building, almost onto the rooftop. So even though there is a wall in between, I feel the intensity of the heat,” the neighbor said to ABC7.
CBS Chicago reported that smoke from the three-story fire enveloped the Chicago skyline.
One firefighter had to be treated for cuts, but is said to be OK.
NBC Chicago says there’s no word on what caused the fire.
