Netflix, Gold House and The Hollywood Reporter hosted the Asian Pacific Islander Excellence Celebration to celebrate the AAPI talent on Netflix in 2022.
According to a press release, actors, filmmakers, celebrities, and influencers gathered at Casita in Los Angeles on Thursday night. Cast members from shows like “Bling Empire” and “Never Have I Ever” celebrated the achievements of the AAPI community together.
“If you think about the way Hollywood looked at our culture 20 years ago, we were deemed culturally irrelevant,” comedian and writer Hasan Minhaj said at the event, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Now, we’re making some of the most relevant, poignant, cutting-edge work.”
