Studio Ghibli announces new Miyazaki film

Studio Ghibli has announced a new film by Hayao Miyazaki called How Do You Live, Variety reports. The film is an adaptation of Genzaburō Yoshino’s novel of the same name.

How Do You Live is a coming-of-age story about Copper who goes on a spiritual journey after the death of his father. The book is written from the perspective of two narrators: Copper and his uncle, who offers advice to his nephew.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film was originally set to be released in 2020. The studio announced on Twitter that it will now open in theaters in Japan on July 14, 2023. It is unclear when the film will be available outside of Japan.
