GoFundMe is directing people toward verified fundraising pages on their platform that will help those affected by the mass shootings in Half MoonBay and Monterey Park.
Unfortunately, unverified GoFundMe pages are sometimes set up after tragedies by people looking to scam donors. To prevent scams, the platform created pages that list verified fundraising campaigns.
A list of verified fundraisers for victims of the Half Moon Bay shootings can be found here, and a list of verified fundraisers for victims of the Monterey Park shooting can be found here.
Both pages list fundraisers specifically set up for families of the victims and fundraisers generally meant to help all those affected by the shooting. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised.
