New Balance announced Tuesday that Major League Baseball star Shohei Ohtani signed a multi-year footwear and apparel endorsement deal with their company.

According to PEOPLE Magazine, Ohtani is the only player to ever be named All-MLB First Team as a pitcher and a hitter. He won the American League Most Valuable Player in 2021 and was the runner-up in 2022.

Ohtani said he is excited to work with New Balance.

“As I continue my journey in baseball, I am excited to join the New Balance family,” Ohtani said in a statement, according to USA Today. “New Balance is a global brand that is known for having incredible product innovation but also for being an authentic brand who allows their athletes to be themselves. I am excited to join with them to change the game.”

The company is currently working with Ohtani on a limited-edition 574 cleat that will retail for $120.
