Organizers of a Go Fund Me campaign for the victims of the Monterey Park shooting closed it today after raising more than $1 million.
Organizers vow that money raised from the campaign put together by Asian Americans Advancing Justice, Southern California; Stop AAPI Hate; The Asian American Foundation; the Asian Pacific Community Fund and 24 other groups will go directly to the victims.
Those who would still like to donate can do so directly through AAAJ, Southern California.
However, the community is now focusing its attention on the victims of the Half Moon Bay shooting.
As of today, the campaign has raised more than $150,000. Chinese for Affirmative Action together with Stop AAPI Hate, the Asian Pacific Community Fund and The Asian American Fooundation are behind this drive along with six other groups.
The Half Moon Bay shooting claimed the lives of 5 Chinese farmworkers and two Mexican farmworkers. The groups are pledging that 100 percent of the funds will go toward the victims.
