Jeremy Lin made his debut for the Kaohsiung Steelers on Sunday. The former NBA player helped lead the team to victory, Basket News reports.
A total of 5,321 fans showed up to watch Lin, who played a total of 41 minutes and scored 21 points with a league-best 13 assists.
“I guess this is the best welcome (for me),” Lin said after the game according to Focus Taiwan.
Lin has said he hopes to help the talented young players in the Taiwanese league. On Sunday, he even stepped into head coaching duties, Basket News reports.
“This is just our first game, so I would say it’s (the teamwork) probably four or five out of 10, but that is already great for any first game. We would keep in contact, keep watching the videos, and keep going as hard as we can to represent Kaohsiung,” Lin said, according to Focus Taiwan.
