A man on a San Francisco bus was caught on camera throwing eggs and yelling racial slurs at Asian passengers.
According to KRON 4, Michelle Young captured the incident on her cell phone. Young was visiting the city Thursday morning and told KRON 4 that she likes to use public transportation whenever traveling to a major city.
Young tweeted that the man boardede the bus with a lot of eggs and began yelling at her and another Asian girl next to her. He called her a “stupid Chinese b****” and started throwing eggs at her.
The man exited the bus after another man intervened and began throwing eggs at the bus window as it pulled away.
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency told NBC Bay Area that it is reviewing its surveillance footage so it can continue to investigate the incident.
“We are committed to doing everything we can to stop the racist attacks on the AAPI community that have been on the increase over the past few years,” the agency said in a statement.
This is not the first time Young has had to deal with anti-Asian hate.
“I do believe from my personal experience that it has gotten worse,” Young told KRON 4.
