Vanessa Hudgens touched down in Manila on Saturday night. The actress is in the Philippines to begin will shooting for her new travel documentary.
Hudgens’ mother, Gina, is Filipina and from Manila, but according to Inquirer.net, this is the first time the actress has visited the country. She will explore her Filipina heritage in the documentary.
“I’ve never been here. It’s part of my heritage so it’s about time to get to know myself a little bit better,” Hudgens said when she arrived at the Manila airport, according to GMA News Online.
According to Variety, the untitled documentary will also highlight the relationship between Hudgens and her mother, as well as Hudgens’ sister Stella. They will film in Manila and Palawan for the remainder of March.
Hudgens’ mother talked about the stars’ favorite Filipino food during their arrival.
“She likes pancit—anything that’s no meat—so seafood, that would be great,” Gina said at the airport, according to GMA News Online.
