Michelle Yeoh will receive award at Cannes Film Festival

Michelle Yeoh will receive the 2023 Kering Women In Motion Award at the Cannes Film Festival, Geo News reports.

Over the past year, Yeoh has won several awards for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, including an Oscar for Best Actress. Her performance has also prompted film organizations to present her with awards celebrating her entire career.

According to The News International, the Women in Motion Award celebrates the contribution made by women to the world of culture and the arts. Yeoh was chosen by François-Henri Pinault, chairman and CEO of Kering; Iris Knobloch, the new president of the Cannes Film Festival and Thierry Frémaux, Cannes Festival’s director.

The Women in Motion Award was started back in 2015, Variety reports. Previous honorees include Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Geena Davis, Susan Sarandon, Isabelle Huppert, Patty Jenkins, Gong Li and Salma Hayek.
