Crazy Rich Asians star Chris Pang joins cast of ‘Interior Chinatown’

Chris Pang has joined the cast of Hulu’s adapted series Interior Chinatown, The Hollywood Reporter learned recently. Pang will reunite with his Crazy Rich Asians co-star Jimmy O’Yang, one of the series’s lead actors.

Interior Chinatown is based on a novel of the same name by Charles Yu. The story follows Willis Wu (Yang) who is stuck playing background characters in a police procedural called Black & White. Pang will play Willis’ charming older brother.

Taika Waititi is directing the series. It was recently announced that Chloe Bennet and Ronny Chieng would star in the series.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Pang said that he was “stoked” to be cast in the series.

“Interior Chinatown the book is a powerful metaphor for the Asian American experience and explores themes that highlight the core of why I do what I do. It genuinely brought me to tears and I am so FRIKKIN proud and excited to say this is what’s next!!!!” he wrote in his caption.

Adding, “What a cast, what a team, what a project- this is going to be a good one!!”
