HBO Max has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming adapted series “The Sympathizer.” The miniseries will debut on the streaming platform in 2024.
“The Sympathizer” centers around a half-French, half-Vietnamese spy who flees to America during the end of the Vietnam War. Hoa Xuande will play the spy, also known as The Captain. The cast will also feature Robert Downey Jr., Sandra Oh, Toan Le and several others. Park Chan-wook is directing.
During a 2023 Academy Awards red carpet interview, Oh revealed she had recently finished filming her part in the mini-series. She said the show will film over the next few months in Thailand.
The mini-series won’t premiere until next year, and it is unclear what month it will be released.
