Shohei Ohtani breaks another record

Shohei Ohtani set another record for the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday during the team’s 2-0 win against the Washington Nationals.

According to Sports Illustrated, Tuesday’s victory was Ohtani’s 10th straight start allowing two runs or fewer. He broke the nine-game streak record held by former Angeles pitcher Nolan Ryan during the 1972-73 season.

Ryan has held the record for nearly 50 years. CBS Sports reports that Ryan’s nine-start streak came during his first two years with the Angels at ages 25 and 26.

Ohtani has only given up one run in 19 innings so far this season, Sports Illustrated reports. He has struck out 24 batters and walked 12.
