Julia Kim Casting and Amazon Studios are searching for an East Asian woman in their 20s to star alongside Daniel Dae Kim in his new Amazon series.
The Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment posted about the casting call on Friday. In their post, the project was referred to as “the new untitled Daniel Dae Kim Series for Amazon Studios.” However, the webpage for the casting call said the project is “Butterfly.”
Variety recently reported that Kim is set to star in a new Amazon series called “Butterfly.” According to Variety, the series follows “David Jung (Kim), an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca, a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him.”
The casting call website said it is looking for a 20-something East Asian woman to play Rebecca.
“Rebecca is a chameleon who can be both deadly and playful, sweet, and manipulative, and is able to easily be the center of attention as well as blend invisibly into the background,” the role description states on the website.
The deadline to apply is Friday, May 26 at 6:00 p.m.
