Filipino American hockey star Jason Robertson and the Dallas Stars have advanced to the Western conference semifinals of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Stars defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-1 on Friday night, winning the playoff series 4-2.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are held every year after the National Hockey League regular season. The top teams from regional divisions compete.
Robertson currently plays as a left winger for the Dallas Stars. The young player has also been pivotal in the post-season. During the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, he had 2 goals and 5 assists, ESPN reports.
The 23-year-old had a historic regular season for the team, helping them into the playoffs. He broke the franchise record for most points in a single season.
The Stars will now face the winner of the Colorado Avalanche and Seattle Kraken series in the semifinals. The Avalanche and Kraken series is currently died 3-3.
