Naomi Osaka silences critics doubting her return to tennis

In a recent interview, tennis Grand Slam champion and former world no. 1 Naomi Osaka silenced the critics who questioned her return to the sport.

The 25-year-old is currently expecting her first child with boyfriend Cordae. According to Sports Illustrated, she recently addressed doubters who believe it will be difficult for her to get her career back on track after her pregnancy.

“Btw to the people that are suddenly concerned about my career- There are plenty of male athletes with kids that are significantly less accomplished, you might wanna worry about them instead. Thanks for the concern, might wanna redirect it to someone that needs it though,” she tweeted.

According to Buzzfeed, many fans and social media users offered Osaka support, noting that it was misogynistic to question the career of female athletes with kids but not male athletes.

Osaka has been more active on social media, Tennis.com reports. She recently promoted her new NikeCourt Air Zoom GP Turbos, called “Snack Packs.”
