Margaret Cho will be a Grand Marshal at the LA Pride Parade in Hollywood, ABC 7 Los Angeles reports. The parade will take place on Sunday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m.
According to LAist, Cho was named Icon Grand Marshal for her work in LGBTQ+ communities speaking out against racism and bullying.
“I’m thrilled and incredibly honored to be the Icon Grand Marshal,” said Cho, according to ABC 7 Los Angeles. “We need this Pride more than ever.”
The late actor Leslie Jordan, who passed away in October was named Legacy Grand Marshal. His sister Jana issued a statement about the honor.
“His honor further solidifies the positive impact he made in the world, but more importantly for the LGBTQ+ community,” she wrote, according to LAist. “His spirit continues to bring love and light.”
